This January and February, every Wednesday from the 18th of Jan between 12 pm and 3 pm Oatlands Community Group volunteers are opening up the community centre to create a warm welcoming space for people to socialise and share warmth.
We will be offering home-made soup and roll, tea, coffee and cake, all free of charge to make sure that it is accessible to all. We are hoping to create more events like this throughout the year and would really value your support to reach our fundraising goal to make this happen.
For every £1 we raise the co-op will match the donation. If we manage to raise the maximum amount of £3000 the co-op will match that and our fundraising total would be £6000. At a recent community event we asked attendees what their concerns were Sadly, the majority of people commented that the cost of living the rise of energy costs and social isolation were the biggest challenges they faced. Social isolation along with the rising cost of living affects so many people in our community.
Oatlands Community Group is run and managed solely by community volunteers, our only income is generated through fundraising and grant funding such as this.
